EVERYBODY wants a GOOD GIRL

Last week a friend of mine told me that he is looking for a good girl to marry and I pretended like I didn't hear him. I kept on discussing other topics and he patiently waited for me to land or rather to stop fooling around. Back to my own topic he said 'OY I need a good girl and I have been seeing all those girls you use as display picture, please connect me to one that is good'
I kept quiet for like 3 minutes and I asked him ,please what do you mean by a good girl, in fact what's your definition of a good girl'?

He started listing all the qualities the good girl ought to have. According to him, he needs a girl that isn't vain, she should be respectful, domesticated, God fearing, good character, tall, beautiful, must know how to speak well, a good listener and above all must be chaste (na so i tear laugh finally).
I was tired of listening to him and I had to ask 'abeg all these your good girl qualities wey you dey list self, the ones wey YOU spoil, who you leave them for'?....(mtcheeeewww)

You do not want someone that is vain in the sense that if she sees hair or shoe that she likes, she will turn to a blind bat and let it go but you on the other hand will spend the same amount or more drinking, clubbing or indulging in your own vanity. If you ask me, using the word 'vain' is so not appropriate in our quest in finding the good one. Instead why don't you look out for the following:

1. A girl that is prudent: this personality is marked by wisdom and is shown in the management of resources.
2. God fearing: this aspect I can not over emphasize. As it is written, the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and that is very important.
3. A girl that is witty to come back to, make you relax after a hard day's work.
4. A girl who is domesticated has good manners, is polite and helpful. Everyman needs a help mate, someone that will help you achieve your goals and likewise you help her achieve hers.

5. You need to look out for someone who you are compatible with. Someone who's shortcomings you will be able to live with or rather who you will strengthen her weaknesses whilst she does same for yours. So that you two will be capable of existing together in harmony
6.  A girl who will understand you. Someone willing to understand you and forgive your
 shortcomings.
7. Finally one man's meat is another man's poison. Those ones you have tagged 'bad' have that their perfect match who will cherish them for their experience.

Finally to all the girls out there I leave you with this last ad

WHY COMPLAIN...?

Finally Thank God Its MONDAY!!!!! at least I get to keep my head, mind and self busy.
Weekend was not fun at all... Lots of Drama and I kept on complaining until someone shared this post with me.
"COMPLAINING IS LIKE A BROKEN RECORD- REPEATS ITSELF AND GOES NOWHERE.
People were coming to the wise man, every time complaining about the same problems. One day he told them a joke and everyone roared in laughter.

After a couple of minutes he told them the same joke and only a few of them smiled.

When he told the same joke for the third time no one laughed anymore.

The wise man smiled and said:

– You can’t laugh at the same joke over and over. So why are you always crying about the same problem?

So start off by erasing the word PROBLEM from your vocabulary and replace it with the word CHALLENGE. This action  by itself frees you from the shackles of the "problem" and launches you into a solution  finding mode because everyone who is challenged fights back. That's the way our brain is wired. Problems make us defensive, challenges make us offensive. So starting  today turn  all your problems into challenges and see how things change for the better".

Do you feel that you have been living in the shadow of your old glory? Are you perturbed that you have not reached that peak yet? I want to remind you that a heavy heart breaks the spirit and there is no competition in destiny.
"The road to your destiny is filled with friends with knives in their hands but smiles on their faces" So instead of feeling sorry for your self, or sobbing cos it seems that you are way behind your colleagues or lamenting because someone feels that without him or her 'you are nobody', I urge you to take every stumbling block as a stepping stone, wipe those tears and remind yourself that God has the final say over your life.
Keep pushing, your sacrifices will pay off soon. Destiny may be delayed but not denied.
I hope this post helps someone today and have a blessed week ahead..

SELF-MADE..... an evidence of pride

Once again I felt like I was in a world of my own, as I heard this dude say all he has accomplished over a period of time. I was with some friends and even though they all acted glued to his ramblings, I knew they were not.
It is a common practice in current times for people in a bid to tell you how hardworking they are, to tell you they are self-made. They tell you how they suffered and rose through the ranks to their present position and status. Sometimes too I am more inclined to think like them when I say I won’t ask anyone for help I will wait on God, so like Abraham I can say No one made me rich.

But pause for a moment, how no one made you rich? did people not pay for the service or product you offered, on the surface that statement can never be true, but in Abraham’s case I guess it was a figure of speech.
Back to the proud and braggadocios men/women of our time, so in your small little mind you feel no one made you who you are today, you really are starting to trip over those little zeros in your account. All great men in life, truly great men will always point to one man who gave them a chance, an opportunity to that first cheque or cash, their first platform to show what they are made of.

With my small mouth, I cut in and asked him, do you really believe you are self-made?
And he again iterates his story saying yes, I trained myself through school, and I took a bus to Lagos to start my own business.
Then I asked again, Who paid for you WASSEC? Whose house did you live in while you schooled?, whose house did you stay in when you got to Lagos? Who gave you your first link to your present customers?
Those are little things he replied.
And I told him, it is little drops of water that makes a might ocean.
Some times in life in our bid to show we have come a long way from our little beginnings, we resort to pride and vain glory, half of the time I really get pissed and I just tell myself it is the display of ignorance.
Even if no one made you along the way, what of the parents who gave birth to you?
I might sound a little biased, but I believe that comment has no place in the mouth of a really humble person, yes no one is God but God also has used men at certain points in your life to get you to where you are now, and will still use men for the next step in your life. Yes its been God's grace all through but He also made the lines fall in pleasant places by providing the people I call 'Destiny Helpers"

In summary, I think the statement 'I am a self-made man' should be replaced with no-One Man has made me who I am today. "No matter how rugged or self assured, everyone requires a cast of players - friends, mentors, lovers, critics, villains and supporters - who call, invite, seduce, goad and encourage them to finally step into their true power."

Plastics and Food. Which is SAFER?

Just like everything in life, it has its pros and cons. most times you come across somethings and if care is not taken you absorb the information it is providing and for the rest of your life your building on some faulty premise. I came across this article sometime on the internet and I really did not take it to heart, because it was challenging everything I have known about plastics growing up.

As Africans, we tend to reuse plastics, not because we can’t afford to buy new plastic bottles for water but I guess we are just lazy, ( or some weird people use it to show the kind of beverage they drink in their houses, Just Kidding).

This article told me that all the plastics water bottles i have been using are bad to my health, he went on to say that most PET plastics can release heavy metals and plastics that can affect hormonal balance. That I should just use them once and throw them away. I just told myself this can’t be true and I skipped the article.

Yesterday when i went to buy bottled water, I just found myself looking at the bottom of the can to know the type of plastic I was buying ( you really have to appreciate the power of the subconscious mind). You see even though I have decided not to acknowledge the information, I have become aware of it.

So back to plastics, because this is a large subject I focused on only the types that can be used to make Food related products, You all know how much I like food. LOL ie PET,HDPE,PP

Was there any truth in what he said about PET plastics or was it just another person who has refused to spend time on research to give accurate information, so I went on my own research

PET (normally labelled 1)

PET, which stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate, is a form of polyester (just like the clothing fabric). It is extruded or molded into plastic bottles and containers for packaging foods and beverages, personal care products, and many other consumer products. It is the most commonly used plastic in food packaging because it is strong yet lightweight, non-reactive, economical, and shatterproof.

Eg beverages ( Coca cola, Pepsi La casera)

It Is safe to reuse this plastic, but the catch is you must wash it well with hot water and soap so the previously contained liquid does not serve as a contaminant to your water, also if they have been closed for longer is better to just not use. Apart from that wash and refill, it is safe, don’t mind them with their media propaganda they want us to buy more plastics, again am kidding.
N/B since it is can be contaminated easily because of its nature, it is safer to use, reuse for sometime and dispose, you must not go to your grave with it.

HPDE (normally labelled by 2)

HDPE which stands for High-Density Polyethylene is the safest plastic for long term storage of food and water, it is strong, resilient and does not absorb liquid readily, Other uses of HDPE includes : Plastic shopping bags, Trays, Tanks, Food containers (HDPE is approved for contact with food by many food advisory boards), Pipe fittings, Hinges, Cutting boards, Wear plates. So check your food containers.

This plastic is safe, You can reuse them.

PP (normally labelled 5)

PP which stands for Polypropylene plastic   is a white colored or semi-transparent plastic, used as a packing for syrups and yogurt cups, used also to cover most milk tops and some food storage containers, also this is a very safe plastic it is not known to cause any harm. They are safe to reuse.

4 Low-density polyethylene (LDPE)
Some bread and frozen food bags and squeezable bottles, are made from this plastic but we don't normally reuse this plastic so i wont dwell on it. But it is safe.

But the rest of the plastic family are harmful please avoid them anyone labeled 3,6 are not good for food related packaging, and anyone you see labelled other or no 7 is even worse than the rest.
Don't be forming tush and cause something else for yourself because life no get duplicate

look underneath each plastic container to know the type of plastic it is.

Why should i get married?

Over the weekend I had this weird discussion with some people and that was when it dawned on me that even in this generation, some of us don’t get married for the right reason(s).

There are several reasons why people get married such as

Companionship: Some of us get married because we need companions and are tired of been lonely. Most people want to grow old with someone they love, they want to have someone to talk to and share life challenges with.

Sex: Some of us get married just to satisfy our sexual desires. But what happens when your partner can no longer satisfy you sexually? Don't get me wrong I agree that sex is an important part of the equation but not the foundation.

Finance: Some get married in order to secure their future financially. Poverty is not their calling at all…but then again, life has twist and turns the person that has all the cash in the world today might lose it all tomorrow, if money was the reason then the union would be under serious attack when the money goes.

Age: Some of us go down the aisle because we feel we are up to the age. That number we have clocked is deceiving us, by us i mean me too. when this thought of age tries to creep in, I tell myself it is better to be single at 35 than married to a man who has made me a regular visitor at the orthopedic unit of the hospital because of broken bones, or married to a woman who will nag my head off with complains and insatiable materialist desires.

Peer pressure:Some are actually pressurized into getting married and at the end of the day most of them get to suffer in their marriages.

I am of the opinion that a lot of things should be put under consideration before saying YES such as;

1. Do I really love him enough to get married to him? The concept of love can not be over emphasized. What do you even understand by the four letter word called LOVE?. Do you love him enough to be able to tolerate his excesses and help him strengthen his weakness? You should ask yourself all these questions.

2.       Are we compatible? I know a couple that had issues just because they didn’t agree as to where they ought to be brushing their teeth. The wife was of the opinion that the bathroom is the proper place to do so while the man prefers the kitchen sink.  Ask yourself if you are compatible with this person you are about to spend the rest of your life with.

3.       His financial situation; well I am not of the school of thought that the man must be filthy rich but if he can comfortably take care of his family and he is someone that has the drive to make it more than he was when he met you, then you can go ahead and say Yes to him. If he has a job that can pay sufficiently. What can he do for himself if he doesn't have that job? Adam was tending the garden before God gave him Eve, so having something you are working on is a prerequisite for the guys
.

4. Purpose - it is a common occurrence in most relationship seminars where the audience is told to define their relationships, what is the purpose of your relationship? they are asked. Honestly I think that question is secondary. The first question should be what is the purpose of your life, the purpose of your life determines the reason of the relationship and who you go into a relationship with. Michelle Obama said " he wont be the president if he had not married me" shows you that this union worked because they both had a clear purpose of where to take the union to. So purpose to me is the key factor in the numerous reasons to marry. every other factor should be built around it. Will this man/woman help me be all I have been created to be, or will he abort it. Think carefully before you say 'I DO'...
